The pleasure of your company

Just stopping by for a moment to let you know there's a new translation. Two in fact. The first is a nice, rather relaxed, invitation to this weekend's plenary meeting. It goes into a fair amount of detail about process and topic, and I think you'll find it quite illuminating, often amusing and helpful to boot.

It is in our Library, of course, along with the rest of the EZLN and other zapatista translations. And, by the way, do let me know if you have any problem with that link. It appears that last night's was tampered with, though I have since corrected it.

And I was going to flutter my eyelashes in delicate astonishment at one of the paragraphs in today's invitation, but I've decided to wait and see if any of our readers can guess which one it might be.

Much more tomorrow, as I'm trusting there might be the briefest of respite prior to the events of this weekend.

I admit that my eyelashes did not go aflutter.

There was a little bit of "Animal Farmism": everyone is limited to 5 minute speeches ... except the EZLN (because some are more equal than others), but at the same time having a time limit sounds reasonable.

And the "overweight" jokes are a little bit stale by now. But I honestly can't see what could have provoked a tremor in your eyelashes :^)

And since it is already the 16th here (I've always been precocious), let me begin the party with El Grito:

"Long live religion!, Long live Our Lady of Guadalupe! Long live the Americas and death to the corrupt government!"

(Though I must admit I would personally do away with the 'religion' bit. Nothing but troubles seems to come from it :^)

It does seem to be getting quite complicated, but everything worthwhile tends to get complicated. Although I personally prefer simplicity in most things. Keep it simple...keep it clear.

Far be it for me to criticize...but I do recall mentioning in another post (concerning a conference of indigenous women, but MUCH prefer keeping my eye open for the tour) about bringing Tarantula repelent...to date the only replelent I have ever heard of was escorting them to the outdoors from the indoors, rather gingerly. There is an ancient dance (that some may not realize is indigenous and came from the first one's,) that occurs when one is avoiding their path.....but to date have never seen any other type of repelent sold in stores to avoid them.

Ok....Share with the rest of us what made the eyelashes flutter? Was it the belly shirt ? Is that an inny or an outy? I have never tired of his humor...doubt I ever will.

Cellulitus v. Cellulite (2005) A major breakthrough in case law of skin. Cellulitus brought a case against Cellulite, when it felt slandered that Cellulite had audacity to compare itself to Cellulitus. Cellulitus brought forth evidence, to prove it was in fact a condition of the skin that was more akin to an inflamtion in the subtucaneous regions
of the skin, as opposed to Cellulite's claim to fame for being fatty deposits, just about anywhere, under the skin. Cellulitus, then brought forth damning evididence that ONLY he occur's in hideous medical cases where patients suffering from a wound or a sore at the subtucaneous layer, can experience his wrath and in presenting his case, proved beyond a reasonable doubt, that Cellulitus himself was in fact closely related to, and lived in the region of infection. Unfortunately for Cellulite, this damning evidence on the side of Cellulitus truely marginalized Cellulite's case on his behalf to the jury that he may be innoxious, but looked upon as horrid in the eye's of Paris Hilton. The jury deliberated for weeks, but in the end Cellulitus was vindicated of being compared to mere fatty deposits and proved beyond a reasonable doubt that he was more noxious. The jury unanimously awarded an undisclosed sum of money in this slander suit, rumored to be in the millions.

Just a friendly reminder, Irl.....but really need to know when the 'tour' begins. Is the departure of the delegation reference to the same? I am quite tired as I post this, so forgive me.

Suenos,

B

Dear B,
We're going to be finding out tomorrow when the Tour begins, or at least when the EZ suggests. Then that, along with everything else, will be put to everyone for consensual agreement] - I'll let you know the second I know - and get some sleep!
